From 1950 to today
1950
A family story
CBF Drilling, a family business, began operations in 1950 under the name Blais et Frères enr. Toward the end of the 1950s, Camille broke away from his brothers and formed his own company, named Camille Blais. In the early 1980s, his five sons became interested in the drilling industry. This is when Camille Blais & Fils Ltée was formed.
1999
A major acquisition in the drilling sector
In 1999, Camille Blais & Fils Ltée made a significant shift by acquiring a Quebec-based company, COVEX (1985) Inc., which specializes in foundation piles, retaining walls, and docks. The merger of the two companies is closely linked to the success of Camille Blais et Fils Ltée, which now carries out drilling projects of all kinds, driving piles and sheet piles, installing Berlin walls, and much more.
2012
Deploy the necessary resources to support its ambitions
Committed to remaining at the forefront of deep foundation technology, Forage CBF is investing millions of dollars to bring its drilling techniques and equipment fleet to the next level. More than ever, Forage CBF is reaffirming its role as a leading player on the Quebec scene.
2015
A very special construction site
After being called upon to work on several major construction sites such as the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC, 2010), interchanges 20, 25 and 132 (2013-2019) and the Turcot interchange (2013-2014), Forage CBF saw its expertise retained to install the test piles necessary to confirm the design of the foundations of the New Champlain Bridge. This involvement also led Forage CBF to act as a foundation and earth support consultant to the project managers throughout this megaproject.
2019
A story that transcends generations
In 2019, six of Camille's grandchildren took over the reins of the family business. Together, they remain true to the value that has always guided CBF: family. Under their leadership, the company continues to grow and expand its horizons, marking the continuity of family expertise built over several decades.
2023
Acquisition of Géodex
CBF Drilling takes a significant step in its growth and reinforces its vision of being a key player in deep foundations in Eastern Canada with the acquisition of ETPO Géodex.
By combining their complementary strengths and pooling their talents, more than 200 resources will now offer even more expertise to clients, in addition to broader geographical coverage, in order to successfully meet the most complex project challenges.

Proud of its 75 years of experience in the drilling industry in Quebec, Forage CBF now has 250 employees who are its pride, both in terms of their work ethic and their dedication to carrying out superior quality projects. Following the direction set by Camille Blais when she founded her company, Forage CBF remains resolutely committed to the continuous improvement of its drilling techniques as well as the use of cutting-edge equipment.
