Overlooking the Décarie expressway(A-15), the Saint-Jacques overpass is a key component of the road infrastructure serving the province’s metropolitan area. While the reconstruction of the overpass in 2016 required drilling 2.5 m-diameter caissons over a distance of approximately 35 metres, the hardness of the rock did not allow such work to be carried out using conventional equipment.
Renowned for its innovative techniques, Forage CBF was convened by the Ministère du Transport du Québec (MTQ) to use its cutting-edge expertise to carry out this project.

With the help of a superior oscillator and specialized equipment capable of drilling rock with a density exceeding 250 MPA (36,500 PSI), Forage Camille Blais put its expertise to work and carried out this meticulous drilling work without causing any vibrations on the ground or within the surrounding structures. During the 12 months that were required to carry out this work, no less than 20 Forage CBF professionals were mobilized in the field to ensure flawless planning and to guarantee that the deep foundation project was impeccably executed.
