Whether it’s drilling, deep foundations, wharf, or retaining walls,
Forage CBF handles all major projects in the
residential, institutional, commercial, industrial, civil engineering,
and road construction sectors. After nearly 70 years in the industry,
we have become the reference in terms of deep foundation operations
for contractors and project managers.
Our solid expertise plays an important role in the completion of
major projects or jobs that require cutting-edge skills and the use
of innovative practices, whether it’s working directly on the ground
or providing consultation.
Over the years, Forage CBF has acquired unparalleled experience in deep foundation construction. Our success is, in part, closely linked to the fact that we have been able to pass our expertise on to the younger generation. It is this intergenerational collaboration that has allowed our company to flourish for over 70 years and enables us to carry out both complex and multi-faceted work!
Forage CBF is a family business that began operations in 1950 under the name Blais et Frères enr. Towards the end of the 1950s, Camille split from his brothers and formed his own company under the name of Camille Blais. In the early 1980s, his five sons became interested in the drilling profession. It was then that Camille Blais & Fils Ltée was founded.
In 1999, Camille Blais & Fils Ltée made a significant shift in its corporate services when it acquired a Quebec-based business, COVEX (1985) inc., which specialized in pile foundations, retaining walls and docks. Camille Blais et Fils Ltée’s success is largely due to the successful merger of the two companies. It now carries out drilling projects of all kinds: pile-driving, sheet piling, retaining walls and much more.
Wishing to stay at the technological forefront in the field of deep foundations, Forage CBF invested several million dollars in order to take its drilling techniques and equipment fleet to the next level. Now more than ever, Forage CBF is reaffirming its role as a major player on the Quebec scene.
After being called upon to work on several major projects, including the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC, 2010), the 20, 25 and 132 interchanges (2019-2013) and the Turcot interchange (2013-2014), Forage CBF was selected to install the test piles needed to approve the foundation design for the new Champlain Bridge. Being involved in this project also lead to Forage CBF acting as a consultant in foundations and land support to project managers throughout the mega-construction phase.
With 70 years of experience in the drilling industry in Quebec, Forage CBF now employs 80 people that the company is proud to have at its side. Their work ethic and dedication is evident in the excellent quality projects they deliver to their clients. Just like when Camille Blais founded his company, Forage CBF remains committed to the ongoing improvement of its drilling techniques and the use of cutting-edge technology. There’s no doubt about it, with us, EXPERIENCE MAKES THE DIFFERENCE.
At Forage CBF, we believe that protecting and preserving the environment is everyone’s business. For numerous years, our Organization has been dedicated to the protection of the environment as the cornerstone of its corporate culture.
